So sometime last year Andrew Stribblehill landed a job with Google. This did quite a number on google's mystique among the Durham spods, but soon he started telling us stories about how nice a place it was to work and how they were looking for more people.
So when I came back for my final year at Uni, I started looking for a job. No idea what its like at any other uni, but around here people do the following when the real world approaches:
I was in the second and fourth groups, and when Strib suggested I apply to Google, I went for it. What followed was four months of phone interviews, emails, some fratic revison and a free trip to Dublin. I can't really say much about the process, but it is everything its made out to be... The long and short of it is that they have offered me a job.
Having accepted, I now have had a major worry lifted from my mind and replaced by smaller worries, like moving to Ireland.
A major thank you is needed, to all the following people:
I'll buy you a beer next time I see you.
Note: I'm unsufferable when something like this happens, so free free to thump me when i get annoying... So far the only downside I can think is I can't tell people to Just fecking google it anymore.
