Palindromic Usernames

I have a six letter username for Durham, and for the last three years people have been pointing out to me that its a palindrome. I didn't really make anything of it, thinking Big uni, short username, but today I checked and found out I had the only palindrome in Durham.

palchecker is the code I used, which impements the normal Compsci way to define a palindrome. I also raised the question of if one palindrome is what should be expected. My back of lecture notes calculation suggested there would be one about every 12,000 users, and about 24 thousand are listed. So its reasonable, though without know more about how usernames work its hard to say if my math is correct.
